Since the 1st Worlds Rimfire in Italy ended in September the team has been working to refine the team selection process into one that will aid aspiring team members in pursuit of their goal by making the process one in which shooters can plan their shooting season around. To accomplish this, we developed and voted on a selection criterion that is based off two main areas. One, National Championships from PRS Rimfire and NRL22. The second is from eight future qualifier matches that will be held between January of 2024 through Feb/March of 2025.

2025 U.S. Rimfire World Championship Selection Process:

2025 Rimfire Divisions: Open, Ladies, Senior, Junior and Factory. It is important to note that Factory is not the same as Base or Production as there is no price limit on rifle or optic.

Selection Criteria:

Top 2 National Championship from a possible four. Those being two from PRS in 2023 and 2024 and two from NRL22 in 2023 and 2024.
Top 3 of up to eight qualifier Matches. There will be four PRS and four NRL22 Qualifiers that will be held across the country. These will be spaced throughout each region and will be timed to not overlap with other qualifiers, regional / national championship, and other major matches.
For Juniors the above criteria is slightly different based on the voting and where Junior members voted. Juniors will take just one of their best of four national championships and three of their best qualifiers.
For all Divisions it is important to note that if a potential team member shoots more than two national championships they can use their third or fourth as a qualifier, as it meets the highest standard.

The next task for our team is to finalize our membership registration. We will use this registration as a declaration of a potential member’s intent to be on the team and have their scores tracked, letting all members know exactly where they stand. The only look back on scores will be the current matches held to date, being the PRS Rimfire October 2023 and NRL22 July 2023 championships.

Member registration will also enable us to plan as we roll out qualifier matches by providing the MD’s with emails for pre-registration or all team candidates and peer squadding of Open and Factory division hopefuls. We hope to have the member registration open in January and have the first qualifier in February of 2024.
