Declare Firearm to Airline & U.S. Customs
Airline requirements:
- Must be transported unloaded, in a locked hard-sided case
- Declared at check-in (never carry in hand luggage)
- Ammunition must be securely packaged, often in original boxes, and within airline weight limits (usually up to 11 lbs/5 kg)
- There are no limits to the amount of ammunition you can carry within the US. Be sure to check with your airline on their airline specific weight limits.
